Call for Board Members

NHNPA is seeking nominations for TWO positions on our Board of Directors - Special Events Chair and Member-At-Large.  All current NHNPA members are encouraged to nominate a colleague or to self-nominate. These positions will be appointed by the Board of Directors during their meeting on June 16th.

The nomination application will take less than 5 minutes to complete - we ask three quick questions about qualifications and prior involvement in NHNPA.  Below you will find brief descriptions of each board position. Nominations will be accepted through June 15th, 2021.

Member-At-Large: 

Two-year term elected in even-numbered years.

 

Member at Large  

Bylaws: There shall be a Member-at-Large who will be nominated by the Nominating Committee to serve in any capacity, as necessary, on the Executive Committee. The Member at Large represents the NP community as a whole.

 

Accountable to: Membership, President, and Board of Directors

 

Criteria for Office:

  1. Adherence to NHNPA’s mission,  purposes, and goals, representative of the general attitudes and values of the association.

  2. Active NHNPA member.

  3. Commitment to serving the full term of office.

  4. A resident of NH or work in NH.

  5. Access and comfortability with using Google Docs.



Responsibilities of the Member At Large

 

  1. Represents the NP community as a whole in Board discussions and decisions.

  2. Receive and report on activity reports from the regional coordinators.

  3. Provide update reports during monthly Board meetings.

  4. To support the mission of the NHNPA to empower nurse practitioners and champion their practice.

  5. To help lead, advocate for, and represent NP as leaders in NH healthcare.

  6. To actively demonstrate the values of the NHNPA of integrity, excellence, leadership, respect and service to NH NPs.

  7. Participate in regional marketing efforts to increase and engage members.

  8. Complete annual conflict of interest statement.

 

Chair - Special Events Committee: 

Two-year term appointed on even-numbered years.

Responsibilities of Special Events Committee Chair

  1. Assist with the planning and implementation of the NP Week celebration (may include: securing location, developing agenda, obtaining speaker (s), developing program activities, organizing food and decor planning as per board-appointed budget, assist in achieving established attendance and revenue goals, etc).

  2. Coordinate annual awards program - assist Executive Director with implementing awards timeline (call for nominations, vetting of nominees by designees, obtain awardee gifts and certificates, organize the presentation of awards).

  3. Coordinate additional events/activities that are identified by the Board of Directors.

  4. Assist in the maintenance of a shared calendar of events for NHNPA, including the posting of events organized by the regional coordinators. 

  5. Assist in the promotion of NHNPA events including NP Week, Annual Conference, Regional Events and others.

  6. Support the mission of the NHNPA to empower nurse practitioners and champion their practice.

  7. Help lead, advocate for, and represent NP as leaders in NH healthcare.

  8. Actively demonstrate the values of the NHNPA of integrity, excellence, leadership, respect, and service to NH NPs.

  9. Participate in regional marketing efforts to increase and engage members.

  10. Complete annual conflict of interest statement.
