NHNPA is seeking nominations for TWO important positions on our Board of Directors - President-Elect and Member-At-Large.  All current members are encouraged to nominate a colleague or to self-nominate.  The nomination application will take less than 5 minutes - we will ask three quick questions about qualifications and prior involvement in NHNPA.  Below you will find brief descriptions about each board position, as they are described in the organization’s by-laws.  We have also shared a general overview of the expectations of all our Board members.  Nominations will be accepted through Sunday March, 13, 2022. The President-Elect assumes office following the Annual Meeting.  The President-Elect shall perform the duties and have the powers of the President during the absence or disability of the President.  The President-Elect shall perform all the duties commonly incident to the office and shall perform such other duties and have such other powers as the Executive Committee may designate. Convene the first meeting of the nominating committee. The President-Elect will automatically assume the role of President in two years or when and if the role of President becomes vacant.

Our staff, consultants, and members have decades of experience navigating the NH State Government including the legislative and executive branches.  Our team includes recognized leaders in both the state and Nation's capitol. Through our advocacy work, we are engaged in: legislation, rulemaking, administrative hearings, and licensure and regulatory matters.  NHNPA is also represented on a wide-rage of legislative commissions through appointed seats. 

Protecting and enhancing the scope of practice for NPs and ensuring legislative and cultural environments that empower NPs to be leaders in healthcare are our key priorities.  We further believe that NPs can provide an important and valuable perspective in shaping all health policy in addition to the healthcare decisions of individual patients.  We strongly believe that NHNPA and NPs should be at every table where these decisions are being made!

 Come learn with and from your pediatric care colleagues! Every day pediatric care clinicians across NH are addressing the mental, emotional, and social impacts of the pandemic on children, teens, and families. The NH Mental Health Care Access in Pediatrics (NH MCAP) Project seeks to support you in these efforts by offering a virtual, lunchtime, case-based learning series starting in February 2022 entitled “Promoting Child and Family Resilience and Healing in a Pandemic.” This ECHO series will support pediatric care clinicians in applying brief, in-office interventions followed by linkages to community and virtual resources to mitigate the harmful mental, emotional, and social impacts of the pandemic. Additionally, the series will assist clinicians in building child and family resilience through the development of “safe, stable, and nurturing relationships” between youth and their primary caregivers.  FREE CME/CNEs as well as complementary provider-to-provider patient consults with psychiatric, pharmacology, and other subject matter experts will be provided. NHNPA has been very fortunate to have several regional coordinators choose to accept other positions on the Board of Directors. As they are transitioning to their new roles, we are looking for new volunteers to serve as regional coordinators. This is a great opportunity to become more involved with the Association, network with peers and contribute to the NP community.

Regional coordinators participate in efforts to increase membership, bring the local NP voice the statewide Board as well as coordinate regional activities to offer networking opportunities and educational events to support NPs throughout the year. We have some seen some very creative ideas: book/article discussions, potlucks, dinner out, industry-sponsored dinners with presentations from drug reps at local restaurants, virtual meet and greets, webinars and more! Regional coordinators are non-voting members of the Board of Directors and are invited to participate in Board meetings and retreats. Regional coordinators must be members of the Association.

Since the beginning days of NHNPA, very few projects can be completed or advocacy wins achieved without the help of the volunteers who serve on our committees. Not only do committee members assist with ideation, but they help with execution. Their contributions assist NHNPA in working towards our mission, to empower nurse practitioners and champion their practice.  At the same time, committee members also benefit from their volunteer experiences.  Volunteers report that they: gain new skills, make new connections and have fun!
